Mulch! This is the time of year to build up the soil and get it prepared for spring and beyond. One of the most important tasks is cover the ground with mulch.
We were very lucky to get some mulch from our neighbor. It came just in time too, as our mulch layer was down to about an inch. I got working and I put down 3-4 inches or more in some area to build the soil back up again and suppress some weeds.
